Retail software system - Matrix II
Matrix II provides a multipurpose interface for performing inventory related tasks. The matrix interface provides information as well as the functionality to add, change, transact upon, and otherwise edit the status of inventory within the system. The primary difference between Matrix I and Matrix II is in the view and functionality of each. Mainly, Matrix I shows one store at a time with views of all colors and sizes on the grid, while Matrix II provides views of all stores for a selected product and color.
The Matrix II screen is divided into six main areas as follows:
- Product Area – This area displays inventory items, sorted by Product ID.
- Search Area – This area contains fields to enter search information to narrow down the displayed list of products.
- Product Detail Area – This area typically contains a grid that displays detailed information about a product.
- View Criteria – This area controls what is displayed in the details area.
- Operations Area – The operations area contains a grid similar to the one in the display area, however, for editing purposes
– this is the grid where the user provides the information for transactions.
- Transaction/Control Area - This area contains the control buttons used to perform transactions on the inventory.
