CHANGE TO BLACK MARK SENSING (for your butterfly labels)
 
1. Turn Printer off.
2. Hold down F1 on the printer and turn the printer back on while holding it down. You may feel a little movement in the printer or hear an audible click. This is normal, Once the pause light turns off, let go of the F1 button 
3. press the F1 button one time.  This will print the configuration of the printer.  We are cncerned with setting #2 "Sensor type". Right now it is set to "EDGE".
4. Hold down F2 on the printer until the Fault light blinks 2 times, then let go. The Printer will then reprint just setting #2.
5. Press cancel one time, it will then print the line again, this time changing the setting of line 2 to "CONT"
6  Press Cancel again, now the line reprints and the setting is "REFL" this is the setting for the black mark. 
7. Press F1 & F3 at the same time, the paper will retract and the paused light will come on.
8. After the paused light turns off, Press F1 & F3 at the same time again, paused will come on again.
9. Turn your printer off, wait 5 seconds, turn it back on

Now we have to change the setting in the driver.
 
1. Go to Start/Settings/Printers and Faxes
2. Right Click on "Datamax E-4203" This pops up a menu box
3. Left Click on Properties. This pops up the Properties of the Datamax Driver.
4. Click on the "General" tab
5. Click on the Printing Preferences button. This calls up the Printing Preferences Menu
6. Click on the "Page Setup" tab
7. Select the desired item from the "Stock" pulldown menu. Press Apply, then ok
8. You are back at the Properties of the Datamax Driver, click on the "Advanced" tab
9. Click on the "Printing Defaults" button This calls up the Printing Preferences Menu again.
10. Click on the "Page Setup" tab
11. Select the desired item from the "Stock" pulldown menu. Press Apply, then ok.
12. "OK" your way out and close the Printers and Faxes folder.

6. Press F1 & F3 at the same time, the paper will retract and the paused light will come on.
7. After the paused light turns off, Press F1 & F3 at the same time again, paused will come on again.
8. 9. Turn your printer off, wait 5 seconds, turn it back on
